I'm a fucking adult.
I’ve been dealing with getting my probation transferred from Texas to Georgia and it’s taken almost a month now, and there have been some complications. They transferred it to Atlanta instead of Athens and I had to get them to send it back to the Ga Interstate Compact Office and then transfer me to Athens, and I’m certainly not trying to avoid being on probation, I’m on probation in Texas till I get it transferred to GA and Texas’s fees are much higher. But whatever, I’ve been the one taking care of all of it — as I should be. Just as I went to Texas alone to answer my charges. But yeah, I’ve had to call both states numerous times and deal with 4 separate governmental agencies, all of which is not a big deal, just a fact of life, but pointing out that I’ve done this myself without asking my mommy to deal with it for me. So I’m confused as to why my mom just called and told me my new probation officer in Athens called her before he ever called me. I’ll be 25 in two weeks, I’m not a fucking child. Maybe they feel I cannot be trusted or something, but why call my mom to check up on me before even bothering to contact me?
Another fucking reason that getting in trouble like this is so demoralizing, they don’t trust you and treat you like a child. I’ve been taking care of myself for a while now, even if I do not financially support myself, I am the one who runs my life, but now I must be “checked up” on and must answer to not only my parents, but my probation officer and the court system.
I love how I don’t know what you’re talking about… It’s so vague and interesting… but if I ask what it’s about, it’ll only make me judgmental…
And cheers to the State of Texas for confusing Athens with Atlanta… I wouldn’t be surprised if they deport New Mexicans on the daily…
